The People's Committee of Binh Duong province has just approved the list of investment projects using land to organize the selection of investors of the An Tay River Port project bordering the Saigon River... 

The An Tay River Port project adjacent to the Saigon River with an area of 100ha, a total investment of nearly VND 2,300 billion, after completion, will become a regional cargo circulation center, reduce traffic load for roads, promote socio-economic development. Of which, VND 453 billion was used for clearing compensation and arranging resettlement.

The port is planned to be located adjacent to the Saigon River, south of An Tay commune, Ben Cat town, Binh Duong province, built to serve cargo transportation activities, forming a chain of logistics services (logistics services) with a multimodal transport model.

This port project aims to serve the transport for the logistics system by river from the interior of Binh Duong province to Cai Mep - Ba Ria Vung Tau deep-sea port and Cat Lai port in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM.

An Tay River Port is built to bring optimal efficiency as direct support services for water transport; inland waterway freight; coastal and ocean freight; loading and unloading goods, warehousing; retention of goods; freight transport by road; other transportation-related support services.

After approving the project portfolio, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to find partners with capacity and experience in investing in the construction of An Tay port in accordance with regulations.

The project's estimated implementation period is from 2023 to 2027. Accordingly, An Tay river port has a planned capacity of 7 million tons / year by 2030, can receive container ships of about 3,000 tons transported by inland waterway on the Saigon River.

The People's Committee of Binh Duong province said that the An Tay River Port project plays an important role for the socio-economy of Binh Duong province.

Specifically, the port will serve cargo transportation from Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc and Central Highlands provinces; The location advantage of An Tay River Port connects most industrial parks, avoiding traffic jams in the area connecting to Ho Chi Minh City. HCM; convenient river connection with Cat Lai and Cai Mep ports.

According to the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, when the port is completed, it will create a closed logistics service area to effectively use the multimodal transport infrastructure system, reduce logistics costs, promote local industrial production in the province as well as in the Southeast region; attracting a large number of local workers.

Thereby, contributing to creating jobs for people, shifting the labor structure from agriculture to services, improving the quality of labor to realize the planning and social development orientation of the province.

At the same time, An Tay port after coming into operation will bring socio-economic development to Ben Cat town, contributing to this locality preparing to go to the city directly under Binh Duong province; increase budget revenue, excise taxes, value-added tax (VAT), corporate income tax and other annual fees of the project, especially import customs fees...
