EU ADJUST REGULATIONS ON THE IMPORT OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS AND PRODUCTS OF ANIMAL ORIGIN

Regulations on importing agricultural products and animal products of the EU market have some changes from March 7, 2026.

For products of animal origin (terrestrial animals), there will be a maximum residue of 0.02 mg/kg. Particularly, milk of animals, eggs of all kinds and products derived from amphibians, reptiles, terrestrial invertebrates, and wild terrestrial vertebrates is 0.01 mg/ kg.


Regulations on import of agricultural products and animal products of the EU market have some changes from March 7, 2026.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Sweden, concurrently serving the Nordic market, informed that on February 2, 2023, the European Commission issued Regulation No. (EU) 2023/334 amending Annexes II and V of the European Union. Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 on maximum residue levels for Clothianidin and Thiamethoxam in and on certain products.

Particularly for edible herbs and flowers is 0.02 mg/kg; Products that are tea, coffee, herbs and spices are 0.05 mg/kg, and cocoa beans alone are 0.02 mg/kg.

For products of animal origin (terrestrial animals) there will be a maximum residue of 0.02 mg/kg. Particularly, milk of animals, eggs of all kinds, products derived from amphibians, reptiles, terrestrial invertebrates, and wild terrestrial vertebrates is 0.01 mg/ kg.

The regulation will take effect from March 7, 2026. The deal recommends that Vietnamese enterprises exporting these products to the EU in general and the Nordic countries in particular should make appropriate preparations and adjustments when exporting goods to the EU and Nordic countries.
