Mekong Connect 2023 is the 8th time the Forum will take place, this year hosted by Ho Chi Minh City, and the participation of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.

On 15 and 16 November 2023, Mekong Connect 2023 will take place in Ho Chi Minh City with the theme "Connecting supply and value chains between Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta economic regions towards a green and sustainable economy", under the chairmanship of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee,  Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ministry of Science and Technology. Mekong Connect 2023 is coordinated and implemented by: Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, Vietnam High Quality Goods Association, VCCI Can Tho.

Mekong Connect 2023 is the 8th time the Forum will take place, this year hosted by Ho Chi Minh City, and the participation of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.

This is a step forward in the spirit of Connect Mekong, after two connections in March 2023, the signing of the Agreement on Socio-Economic Development Cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, and then, in July 2023, the implementation of this cooperation agreement. Thus, Mekong Connect is the milestone of 2023, promoting supply and value chain connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta provinces towards green economy and sustainable development.

The forum has many important contents, including the exhibition: Vietnam's green and sustainable economy. In particular, there are the participation of Green enterprises, all of which are enterprises of Vietnam High Quality Goods Association - Integration standards are strong in the participating market, such as: Vinamilk, Loc Troi, Vinamit, Thien Long, Minh Long I, Dien Quang, Duy Tan, Phu Le, Faslink, DannyGreen, ... with technological and recycled products, products from high-tech agriculture, with international quality standards.

Besides, there are indigenous specialty products, regional characteristics, products deeply processed in agriculture of nearly 100 young enterprises and farmers. These young entrepreneurs have been formed from the Green Startup Project Competition for the past 10 years. Most typically, young people have recently won high prizes from the 9th Green Startup Project Contest/2023 at the Reunification Palace in Ho Chi Minh City. From this playground, hundreds of young people across the country have taken advantage of indigenous resources in agriculture, to rise up to enrich their homeland and country. They are seen as young entrepreneurs, the future of the country in the future development journey. This is an achievement of joint activities between Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta provinces, together with agricultural start-up forces nationwide.

Here, the Organizing Committee also introduced the book "Green Start-up – A 10-year journey to create a generation of Vietnamese entrepreneurs from indigenous resources", and awarded Letters of Merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan to 80 typical farmers, letters of thanks from the Minister to 20 start-up coaches of the Vietnam Business Association high quality.

With a variety of content routes, Mekong Connect 2023 will focus on opening up new directions for the business community as well as policy recommendations. In particular, in the context of linkages and connectivity becoming extremely important factors, between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, the forum emphasized the need for action to enhance value chains in the areas in which these two economic zones interact. Talks, discussions, presentations and reports throughout the two-day event focused on how to take action to achieve green and sustainable growth, and communicate this message to society and consumers, while promoting the sustainable development of the region.

Specifically, some key issues will be discussed and shared at Mekong Connect 2023, such as: How the specific mechanism for the development of Ho Chi Minh City affects strengthening links for Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta enterprises in the supply chain of goods and services; Challenges in implementing the Mekong Delta Integrated Plan and proposing support solutions; Take advantage of policy leverage to strengthen economic and trade linkages between the Ho Chi Minh City economic sector. HCM and the Mekong Delta; Report: results of investment linkage between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta.

Signing a cooperation agreement to implement a number of key contents of Industry and Trade between Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the period of 2023 – 2025; Awarded the Certificate of Vietnamese High Quality – Integration Standard to 19 enterprises. Up to now, 224 enterprises (including 145 Food enterprises and 79 Non-Real enterprises have achieved this certification); The role of leading enterprises in the green economic ecosystem; Solutions to strengthen adaptive capacity for enterprises in the economic region of Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta; The future of agricultural economics: stories of a new generation of entrepreneurs and the added value from indigenous resources; New policies of Ho Chi Minh City to support start-up activities in agriculture; The future of agricultural economics: stories of a new generation of entrepreneurs and the added value from indigenous resources; The movements of the Vietnamese business community in the recycling trend towards sustainable development; Solutions to promote the formation of carbon credit market in Vietnam; What the international market is looking for from Vietnamese products; Trade promotion solutions for sustainable revenue growth for businesses; Modern communication marketing solutions associated with ESG trends of the business community; Initiatives of retail systems and ride-hailing technology application companies in promoting green consumption and green transformation.
